Player career

Packert started playing soccer as a younger student at FC Bohemians Prague . At the age of 18 he began his military service and played for Dukla Prague for the next two years , but without being used in the first team.

The midfielder made his first division debut in the spring of 1964 in the game against VSS Košice . Packert, who was later employed in the pre-stopper position, remained loyal to the kangaroos until 1976, when he ended his career with the Prague club TJ Modřany.

Packert played a total of 616 league, cup and friendly matches for Bohemians Prague. In the 1st Czechoslovak League he ran 141 times and scored twelve goals.

Coaching career

Packert began his coaching career in 1977 with the Czechoslovak U16 team. He looked after the team that had become the U18s in 1979 until 1981. From 1982 to 1983 he was responsible for the U21 national team in his country together with Milan Bokša .

In 1984 he went to Greece and was initially a manager and later a trainer at OFI Crete . In the 1985/86 season the Czech Panathinaikos coached Athens and was extremely successful. The team not only won the Greek championship , but also the national cup competition . Nevertheless, he was released. Until 1989 Packert trained with an interruption at Ethnikos Piraeus , from 1990/91 he worked at PAS Ioannina .

Two years later he dared to return to Bohemians Prague, at the beginning of the 1992/93 season he was hired as a manager. As a coach, he took over the team in the second half of the 1992/93 season, but was dismissed after the Hindrunde of the following 1993/94 season. Packert moved to Greece again, this time to the second division Pagkorinthiakos from Corinth . In the mid-1990s he returned to the Czech Republic and briefly trained Tatran Poštorná in the 2nd division.

Packert did not get an offer from a big club. In 1997/98 he worked at ES Setif in Algeria , in 2001/02 he coached the South Korean team Chunnam Dragons . Packert also worked for Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa . After the 2002 World Cup , he worked at Skoda Xanthi , but not as head coach.
