Milan Bokša (born May 3, 1951 in ) is a former Czech football player and current football coach .

Player career

Bokša played for Jiskra Aš and Škoda Pilsen in his youth . His only position in the senior sector was the Prague club SK Břevnov, he ended his career at the age of 23 to devote himself to coaching.

Coaching career

Bokša's first club in his long career was Dukla Tabór's B team in the 1975/76 and 1976/77 seasons. He then worked for three years in the junior division of his former club SK Břevnov. In 1979 he also became an assistant coach for the Czechoslovak U-18 national team. From 1980 to 1982 Bokša was assistant coach for the Juniors of Dukla Prague , from 1981 to 1983 assistant coach for the U-21 team in Czechoslovakia. He then worked directly for the national association for four years and worked in the Czechoslovak football academy ČSFA. In 1989 he went to Indonesia with Josef Masopust to train the Olympic team there.

Bokša returned to Czechoslovakia in 1991 and for the first time was the main coach of a club team. At VTJ Teplice he stayed two years and rose with the team from the third to the second division. In the winter break of the 1993/94 season he took over the first division club Union Cheb and led from eighth to fourth place in the table. In the 1995/96 season, Bokša was in charge of the then second division club SK LeRK Brno . He then returned to the Gambrinus League and reached seventh place with Petra Drnovice . In the following two years Bokša was a coach at Sigma Olomouc . The team finished third in 1998, and the coach was dismissed in April 1999 because the club's management saw qualification for the UEFA Cup in jeopardy, although the team in fifth place was only three points behind second Slavia Prague .

Bokša went to Kuwait for a year and trained the Kazma SC in Kuwait City . After returning to the Czech Republic, he coached Baník Ostrava (2000 to 2001), SK České Budějovice (2001 to 2002), 1. FC Synot (July to October 2002) and FK Mladá Boleslav (July to October 2004). Then Bokša was a year and a half football teacher at the VOŠ a SOŠ in Roudnice nad Labem , a school with football classes . In the 2006/07 season he should bring the first division relegated Vysočina Jihlava back to the Gambrinus League , which he did not succeed. He returned to the VOŠ a SOŠ . Bokša has been the head coach of the junior division of Sparta Prague since 2008 .
