Petra Bock

Petra Bock (* 1970 ) is a German author , speaker and coach .

Life

Bock studied history and political science in Munich, Regensburg, Leicester (Great Britain) and Berlin, where she received her PhD in 1998/1999. phil. PhD on transformation processes and system changes of dictatorships in democracies . During her doctorate, she worked in the field of change management as a consultant and speechwriter. From 2001 she was a coach. In 2008 she founded the Dr. Bock Coaching Academy in Berlin.

After holding a number of science and business titles, she started publishing coaching books in 2005. In her book Mindfuck , published in 2011, she argues that most people today still operate with thought patterns that are oriented towards authoritarian, strongly hierarchical social conditions of past eras, and that they therefore make suboptimal decisions and block themselves. Building on this, the book Der Entstörte Mensch was published on May 4, 2020 , which is devoted to the attempt of a " social theory on personal change".
