Petra Kasten

Petra Kasten (born March 30, 1955 in Dresden ) is a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

From 1973 to 1976 Petra Kasten attended evening school at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts . She then studied painting and graphics there from 1976 to 1982. Then she worked as a freelancer. From 1986 to 1988 she was a master class student with Günter Horlbeck .

Together with Lutz Fleischer and Andreas Hegewald , she founded Leitwolfverlag in 1983, which specialized in artistically valuable editions. From 1995 to 1996 she directed the evening academy at the Dresden University of Fine Arts . Since 1999 she has been a member of the German Association of Artists . In 2003 she was one of the forty out of over a hundred artists who were elected DKB members between 1999 and 2003. She took part in the anniversary exhibition to mark the centenary of the Künstlerbund in Bonn's Bundeskunsthalle with the large-format drawing Resonanz .

Petra Kasten lives in Dresden.
