Petra Krumphuber

Petra Krumphuber (* 1977 in Linz ) is an Austrian creative jazz trombonist .

Live and act

Krumphuber, who grew up in the Upper Austrian Alpine foothills, first played the tenor horn , but quickly switched to the trombone . After studying at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz , she moved to Berlin in 1999. Since then she has lived and worked there as a freelance musician, playing jazz as well as salsa , theater and pop music . After participating in a workshop for “Jazz and Creative Music” in Banff , she founded her quintet Croomp in 2006 , in which she interprets her own compositions with Silke Eberhard , Johannes Haage, Simon Bauer and Kay Lübke. After winning the Berlin Senate's studio competition, she recorded her first album under her own name in 2007. In 2009 she thrilled the audience at the Outreach Festival in Schwaz .

She was also a member of the United Women's Orchestra and plays with Lunatic Broom and Kapelye Ziganoff .
