Petra Sax-Scharl (born November 14, 1965 in Salzburg , Austria ) is a former German wheelchair tennis player .

Career

Petra Sax-Scharl had been dependent on a wheelchair since a skiing accident and started in the paraplegic class .

She took in 2000 at the Paralympic Games in Sydney in part. In the individual, she was eliminated in the first round. In the doubles competition, she and partner Christine Otterbach reached the semi-finals, which they lost to Daniela Di Toro and Branka Pupovac . The subsequent game for third place and thus the bronze medal they won against Janet McMorran and Kimberly Blake .

In the world rankings she achieved her best placings with twelfth in singles on May 22, 2000 and with rank 15 in doubles on April 3, 2000. After the Wheelchair Tennis Masters in 2000, where she competed in doubles, finished her career.

After her career, she worked in the field of fashion design and now runs a studio in Munich .
