Petra Steimen-Rickenbacher (born May 20, 1966 ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

biography

The woman from Wollerau was elected to the government council of Canton Schwyz on March 11, 2012 . With her, a woman again took a seat in the seven-member Schwyz cantonal government after 1996. She has been the head of the Interior Department since 2012. From 2018 to 2020 she was the governor of the Canton of Schwyz. In June 2020, Steimen-Rickenbacher was elected Landammann for a period of two years. After Margrit Weber-Röllin (CVP, Wilen) she is only the second woman in this position. From 1992 to 1994 Weber-Röllin was the first woman Landammann in the history of the canton.
