André Rüegsegger (born June 30, 1976 ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ).

biography

André Rüegsegger grew up in Brunnen , where he still lives today. He studied law at the University of Zurich and was admitted to the bar of the Canton of Zurich. In 1999 he stood as a candidate for the young CVP in the National Council elections . He was an independent lawyer and cantonal councilor before he was elected to the government council of the canton of Schwyz on March 11, 2012 . From July 1st, 2012 to June 30th, 2020 he was head of the security department. On July 1, 2020, he took over the management of the building department from Othmar Reichmuth . The Cantonal Council elected him on June 25, 2020 as governor for the 2020–2022 term of office.
