Petras Aravičius

Petras Aravičius (born June 29, 1887 in Avižieniai , Seirijai district , Seinai district, Lithuania ; † August 25, 1942 in Sverdlovsk Oblast , Soviet Union ) was a Lithuanian lawyer and Minister of the Interior of Lithuania .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1907 at the boys' grammar school in Suvalkai , Aravičius studied physics and mathematics from 1907 to 1914 and at the law faculty of the University of Peterburg . From 1921 to 1926 he was head of the education department of the Alytus District and from 1927 to 1929 head of the Alytus District . In the 15th government of Juozas Tūbelis (1929-1934) he was Lithuanian interior minister until April 1, 1931 . His successor was Steponas Rusteika (1887–1941). From 1931 to 1940 Aravičius was director of the Agricultural Bank (lit. Žemės bankas ).
