Petras Griškevičius

Petras Griškevičius (born July 19, 1924 in Kriaunos , Rokiškis Rajongemeinde , † November 14, 1987 in Vilnius ) was a Soviet politician in Soviet Lithuania .

Life

From 1941 Griškevičius lived in Russia . In 1948 he graduated from the Vilnius Party School and in 1958 a correspondence course at the CPSU Party School in Russia. From 1950 to 1951 he was editor-in-chief of the newspaper " Valstiečių laikraštis " and from 1952 to 1953 of the communist newspaper "Raudonoji žvaigždė". From 1953 to 1955 he worked for the daily newspaper "Tiesa" . From 1976 he was a member of the Central Committee of the CPSU and from 1979 Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Soviet Union .
