Petro Denyssenko
Petro Denyssenko ( Ukrainian Петро Денисенко , English transcription Petro Denysenko; born September 13, 1920 in Pjatychatky , † September 9, 1998 in Kiev ) was a Ukrainian pole vaulter and decathlete who competed for the Soviet Union .
In the decathlon he won gold at the World Festival of Youth and Students in 1949 and silver in 1951.
He finished fourth in the pole vault at the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki and won the 1953 World Festival of Youth and Students.
In 1946 he was Soviet champion in the decathlon and in 1952 and 1954 in the pole vault.
