The Gmina Kleszczele [ klɛʂˈt͡ʂɛlɛ ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Hajnowski of the Podlaskie Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name with 1326 inhabitants (2016).

The municipality is located in eastern Poland and borders with its southeastern tip a few hundred meters on Belarus . The Nurzec River is one of the waters .
history
In 1950, the main town lost its town charter , which was reassigned to the town in 1993. Since then the community has had its current status. From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the Białystok Voivodeship

The state road DK 66 leads through the main town in a south-easterly direction to the border crossing to Belarus. After 25 kilometers in a northerly direction, Bielsk Street reaches Podlaski . The voivodeship road DW 685 leads north-east to Hajnówka . The voivodship road DW 693 also begins in the city and ends after 35 kilometers in Siemiatycze into the state road DK 19 .
There are regular bus services to Białystok , Bielsk Podlaski and Hajnówka and rail services to Białystok via Bielsk Podlaski.
The nearest international airport is Frédéric Chopin Airport in Warsaw , 170 kilometers away.
