Petrus Adrianus "Piet" Wernink junior (born April 1, 1895 in Oudshoorn , † November 29, 1971 in Wassenaar ) was a Dutch sailor .
Career
Petrus Wernink took part in the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp , where he was a crew member of the Oranje alongside Bernard Carp , and Carps' brother Joop Carp was skippered . The only competitor in the regatta was the French boat Rose Pompon from skipper Albert Weil . Since the Rose Pompon was delayed due to problems with customs, the first of three races was not held. The second and third races were won by the Orange , so that Wernink and the Carp brothers became Olympic champions .
Wernink was director of Wernink NV , a concrete and building materials trade. He received the Officer's Cross of the Order of Orange-Nassau .
