Peyami Gürel (born April 11, 1959 in İstanbul , Turkey ) is a Turkish painter and art consultant .

Gürel made his A-levels on the Istanbul Erkek Lisesi. In 1977 he began studying economics at Istanbul University . During the military coup of September 12, 1980 , he broke off his studies and immersed himself in art and philosophy .

In 1984 he married and then started working in the family business. However, the collaboration with his father did not last long. In 1986 he opened a souvenir shop with his brother-in-law, where he took over the management. Parallel to his activity as a businessman, he continued his research and experimental work in art and philosophy . In 1988 he opened his own art gallery .

In 1993 the whole thing developed into a center where exhibitions, plan development coordination and training courses take place. In addition to painting, the center opened its doors primarily to traditional Turkish art and its artists.

In order to bring traditional art closer to society, the artist designed and moderated a television program between 1996 and 1997 , which was broadcast live every week. He worked as an art consultant for various private and state institutions (such as the Ülker Society and the Beyoğlu District Administration). Since 1995 he has been a board member of the Istanbul City Art Gallery in the Taksim district . The artist also set standards in the field of multimedia and graphic design.

In addition to managing the center, which bears the name İstanbul Sanat Evi (House of Art Istanbul), he explored the various branches of traditional Turkish art, such as ebru ( marble paper ), hat ( calligraphy ), minyatur ( miniature painting ) and tezhip ( ornaments ) .

During his artist career he has organized his own exhibitions and has also participated in exhibitions by other artists.

His artistic expression is based on the ontology of the existential dimensions. The artist, who is inspired by hermetic art , also deals with modern art.
