Pezoi

Pezoi was called in parts of the ancient Persian Empire , a phalanx unit . In the kingdoms of Bactria , Sogdia and the Seleucid Empire , troops were retrained and trained as phalanges based on the Greek model at the time of Hellenism .

Pezoi - pikemen were similar to the Greek Hoplite with a thrusting spear and a large round shield and a short sword for melee equipped. The armor of the Pezoi consisted of a helmet , greaves and a breastplate , mostly made of leather, bronze or iron.
