Boy Scout Association Globetrotters
The Scout Association Weltenbummler (PbW) is a German scout association with around 1,500 members. The Boy Scout Association Weltenbummler e. V. is a registered association recognized as a non-profit and a member of the German Scout Association (DPV) and the World Federation of Independent Scouts (WFIS) . It is a recognized sponsor of youth welfare in accordance with the Child and Youth Welfare Act , a member of the Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband Landesverband Bayern and performs religiously and politically independent youth work on the basis of international scouting principles.
history
The federation was founded in 1981 in Coburg by groups that had left the BdP as the Bavarian Scout Association. The first federal leadership consisted of Joachim Müller (federal leader), Stephan Klein (2nd federal leader), Rainer Scherzer (3rd federal leader), Dieter Bamberger (treasurer) and Marlies Klein (secretary). In 1989/90 members from Thuringia and Saxony also joined. Because the catchment area of the Boy Scout Association went beyond the Bavarian borders, the association changed its name to Boy Scout Association Weltenbummler . In 1993 the regional associations Schleswig-Holstein , Hamburg and Berlin were founded, later followed by Baden-Württemberg , North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony . There are now groups of the Boy Scout Association Globetrotters in 7 federal states.
structure
The federal government is divided into the following levels:
- Federation
- State associations (usually by federal state)
- Districts (according to the administrative districts)
- Horste (voluntary associations of tribes)
- Tribes (Local Groups)
In addition, the federal government includes the following age groups:
- Beavers (children aged 3–6)
- Wolves (children aged 7-11)
- Boy Scouts (children and adolescents aged 12-16 years)
- Rover (teenagers and young adults aged 17-27)
- Team (supporting adult members aged 21 and over)
The structure is laid down in the federal regulations.
activities
Federal camps take place every four years; all members are invited to this end, so that around 1,000 globetrotters gather there. In addition, many globetrotter tribes regularly take part in events of the DPV and the WFIS .
The Lauterburglauf is a station run through the Coburg region , which is also open to clans that do not belong to the Boy Scout Association Globetrotters. Every year it commemorates the first kinship trip after the Second World War, which then went to Lauterburg . The Lauterburglauf is closely rooted with the federal government, although it is not / was not organized by itself, but by Horst Rebellen, the Coburg Old Scouts, the Bavarian State Association, the Scout Association Weltenbummler or, since 2009, the Bavarian Boy Scout Ring.
Similar to the Lauterburg run is for the Beaver and Cub Scout annually in the area around the community Eckental between Erlangen and Nuremberg organized by Horst foxes Bundesbiber- and mob rally instead.
environment
Creating something new has been one of the “federal wisdom” since the federal government was founded. This also applies to tent sites, huts and houses run by local development associations .
Since the federal government itself is a youth association, i.e. the members are under 27 years of age, the question arose of what happens to older members. In 2000, for example, the Scout Community Weltenbummler eV was founded as an adult association. It supports the youth association in its activities, but also carries out its own activities for its members. For several years she has been the organizer of the Lauterburglauf.
Promotion and challenge of the individual is a goal of scouting, which is also pursued by the International Youth Program (IJP). In 1997, the Scout Association Weltenbummler became the program provider of the IJP.
In order to offer open leisure time, the association Fahrt-Ferne-Abenteuer was initially founded in order to organize camps and journeys in a scouting style for non-scouts in cooperation with the Boy Scout Association. In 2005/06 the association was transformed into a non-profit GmbH , the sole shareholder of which was the Scout Association Globetrotters until it was sold in January 2016.
