The Pfalzbach is a nearly one kilometer long brook in the south-eastern Palatinate Forest on the district of Dernbach in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Südliche Weinstrasse , which flows into the Dernbach from the right and west .

geography

course

The Pfalzbach rises in the Palatinate Forest at about 265  m above sea level. NHN west of Dernbach on the edge of a closed mixed forest in the Gewann Im Pfalzteich between the Großer Eischkopf ( 386.5  m above sea level ) in the south-west and the Hubberg ( 383.4  m above sea level ) in the north-west in its small basin between the Mountains to the Dernbachtal projecting east spurs.

It initially flows about 300 m in an east-northeast direction, then disappears into the underground on the western edge of Dernbach and thus crosses its settlement area to the east-southeast. Only about a hundred meters after the edge of the village in the east it finally flows into the Dernbach at two small ponds in the floodplain at about 197  m from the right .

Catchment area

The catchment area is only a little over 0.3 km² and runs out in a wedge shape to the east towards the mouth. At its base in the west it borders on that of the more important Eischbach ; in the north and south, behind the mountain spurs mentioned, there are still smaller secondary valley stubs of the Dernbach without any notable body of water. The highest point is the summit of the Hubberg on the northwestern watershed, which rises to over 385  m above sea level. NHN lies.
