Rectory (Burghausen)
The rectory of St. Jakob in Burghausen was built in 1731. The rectory at Messerzeile 16 is a protected architectural monument .
The seven-axis free - standing saddle roof structure in eaves position with pilaster structure has a stabbed arched portal .
A redesign took place after it was affected by a fire in the neighboring building on August 4, 1898 and burned down to the first floor.
Previous building
A Gothic parsonage building can be seen in a model of the town by Jakob Sandtner from 1574 . It was an eaves , two-storey building with three upper floor axes with a cripple hipped roof and a small house . The rectory was connected by an archway to a building on the edge of the cemetery. It burned down in 1578.
In an engraving by Michael Wening from 1699, a gable-independent baroque rectory building with a stepped gable , an onion dome and a flat bay window on the south side is shown.
Outbuildings
Next to the rectory, in Messerzeile 17, there is the "Pfarrmesnerhaus" originally from the 15th / 16th century. Century. The core of the so-called choir regents and chaplain house at Messerzeile 18 probably came from the beginning of the 16th century. There is documentary evidence of church music in St. Jakob as early as the 14th century. The composer of the Christmas carol Silent Night, Holy Night , Franz Xaver Gruber , received his basic musical training from Georg Hartdobler in 1805/06. Today it is a matter of new buildings with a historically modeled facade design, which has been the parish center of St. Jakob since 2000.
