The Roman Catholic parish church Bad Tatzmannsdorf is located in the municipality of Bad Tatzmannsdorf in the Oberwart district in Burgenland . It is consecrated to St. John the Baptist and belongs to the Pinkafeld dean's office in the Eisenstadt diocese .

history

The old church was consecrated in 1898 and demolished in 1968 after the current church was built. Today's church is a modern building based on plans by Friedrich Mostböck . The building was erected between 1966 and 1968. The church was consecrated on October 13, 1968 by the then diocesan bishop Stephan László .

Furnishing

The statue of the Virgin Mary is the work of the academic sculptor Josef Paulesich, Draßburg. The altarpiece and Stations of the Cross are by the Burgenland artist Thomas Resetarits, Wortberg. In October 1994 the new organ ("Prof. Josef Mertin Organ") was consecrated, planned by Prof. Josef Mertin and built by the master organ builder Wolfgang Bodem, Leopoldsdorf.

Bell jar

The 3 bells were inaugurated on September 17th, 1972 and were cast by the Perner company.
