The Roman Catholic parish church Fürnitz / Brnca is in the village of Fürnitz in the municipality of Finkenstein am Faaker See and is dedicated to St. Consecrated to Michael. The parish belongs to the Deanery Villach-Land of the Diocese of Gurk .

history

It was first mentioned as a parish in 1296. The Romanesque core of the choir tower church dates from the first half of the 13th century, the choir from the 14th century. The tower was raised during the baroque period .

Building

The mighty choir tower has a pointed gable helmet . The nave has undivided walls and a flat wooden ceiling. The off-axis choir with a 4/6 end has a groin vault .

High altar

Facility

The high altar dates from the middle of the 18th century. He is a baroque hexastyle shrine -Altar with the Archangel Michael as the central figure. Assistant figures are Saints Wolfgang and Nepomuk on the left, Saints Franz Xaver and Ulrich on the right .

The side altars are from the 17th century. St. Mary in the painting of the north side altar is depicted with goiter and exophthalmos . The painting on the south side altar shows St. Barbara, the heart-shaped top picture of St. Florian .

Other furnishings include a baroque crucifixion group on the triumphal arch, a baroque painting of Our Lady and a baptismal font , the lid of which is crowned by a pine cone.
