The Roman Catholic parish church Höflein an der Donau is located in the center of Höflein an der Donau , a village and cadastral parish of the Lower Austrian municipality of Klosterneuburg .

She is St. Margareta , belongs to the Klosterneuburg Dean's Office of the Archdiocese of Vienna and is looked after by Klosterneuburg Monastery .

The Romanesque hall church was built in the 12th century in an elevated position above the town as a fortified church, which is surrounded on the north side by a quarry stone defensive wall. In 1248 the estate and the parish were sold to the Klosterneuburg monastery and incorporated into the monastery in 1399 . In 1682 the sacred building was redesigned in Baroque style and enlarged to double its original size towards the east.
