Catholic parish church of St. Laurentius in Kirchham

The Roman Catholic parish church in Kirchham is located in the municipality of Kirchham in the Gmunden district in Upper Austria . It is consecrated to St. Lawrence and belongs to the Deanery Pettenbach in the Diocese of Linz . The building is a listed building .

history

The church is first mentioned in a document in 1249. The late Gothic hall church dates from the last quarter of the 15th century.

Church exterior

The church is a late Gothic hall church with a west tower, which has a wedge roof. In the southern corner of the choir is the sacristy vaulted with star ribs . The west and north portal are late Gothic. A ribbed vaulted vestibule is presented to the north portal.

Church interior

The church has a single nave, 3½-yoke nave. The drawn-in, 2½-yoke choir ends in the 5/8 end. Both the nave and the choir are vaulted with mesh ribs . The vault in the nave is very similar to that in the parish church of Gschwandt near Gmunden . The west gallery has three axes and is slightly broken twice. It rests on star rib vaults .

Furnishing

The sacrament house is made of stone and decorated with rich tracery . The font is Gothic. The high altar is in neo-Gothic style. Behind it is a painting by Johann Payrhueber from the middle of the 18th century. Baroque parts were used for the side altars . The figures and the altarpieces are from more recent times. The pulpit and oratory were created around 1700. The Baroque Stations of the Cross are from the middle of the 18th century. On the west gallery are two baroque pictures from the first half of the 18th century.
