The Roman Catholic parish church Klosterneuburg-St. Leopold is in Josefsdorf under the Kahlenberg and Leopoldsberg in the municipality of Klosterneuburg in Lower Austria . The church consecrated to St. Leopold belongs to the Klosterneuburg deanery of the Archdiocese of Vienna and is looked after by Klosterneuburg Monastery . The church building is a listed building .

history

The simple sacred building was built according to the plans of the architect Rudolf Wondracek between 1936 and 1937 by the construction company Josef Schömer & Söhne .

In 2009 the parish hall was renovated. The parish has a choir and organizes theater evenings in the parish hall.

architecture

The unadorned cubic hall with a rectangular choir tower in the south is designed for around 400 people. Opposite the choir tower is the vestibule with the baptismal font and above it the gallery .

Furnishing

The decor is simple. The free-standing high altar is made of Italian marble. The stained glass of the eight rectangular windows of the nave depict Saint Nicholas, Bruno, Martin and Monika on the east side and Saint Augustine, Archangel Michael, Antonius and Joseph on the west side.
