Parish church Krakaudorf
The parish church Krakaudorf is in an elevated position at the western exit of Krakaudorf in the municipality of Krakow in the Murau district in Styria . The Roman Catholic parish church , consecrated to St. Oswald , belongs to the Murau deanery in the Graz-Seckau diocese . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection ( list entry ).
history
In 1234 a church was mentioned in a document. The church was enlarged in the 15th century. The wooden coffered ceiling was donated by Georg von Liechtenstein in 1534. From 1759 to 1764 the choir was rebuilt by the bricklayer Franz Jager. From 1766 to 1777 the tower was raised. In 1937 and 1968 the interior of the church was restored.
architecture
The Roman core nave shows a coffered ceiling with 120 fields with a rosette pattern and a laterally reversed arms of Liechtenstein from 1534. The Fronbogen is round-arched and shows a chronogram 1793. The to nave the same width two-bay choir with a five-eighth end is curved with a stitch cap ton. All windows are baroque. The three-axis baroque west gallery on pillars and stucco fields has a protruding middle section. The Gothic two-and-a-half-story tower is set in the south-west corner of the nave and has a baroque hood with an onion and a lantern. The tower chapel of St. Josef on the ground floor has a star rib vault and is open to the nave with a pointed arch. In the tympanum field is a fresco with angels painted by Erich Hönig in 1937. The sacristy is south of the choir.
The whole choir shows frescoes with scenes from the life of St. Oswald and shows the signature Joh. Löderwasch Maller zu Murau 1793 at the end of the choir.
Furnishing
The carpenter Paul Scheuch built the high altar from 1776. The statues were created by Johann Reiter in 1777/1778. The high altar picture St. Oswald and its frame are from the first third of the 18th century and were transferred here from Maria Pöllauberg , it replaces the altarpiece by Johann Lederwasch in 1803, which burned in 1967.
The left side altar St. Maria probably created Johann Georg Pult in 1773. The right side altar hl. Johann Nepomuk with a structure from 1657 shows an altar panel after the middle of the 18th century. The altar in the tower chapel around 1700 was transferred here from Strallegg in 1937.
Johann Michael Hausstätter painted a large picture of the Lamentation of Christ .
The baroque organ front is from the last third of the 18th century.
