The Roman Catholic parish church Münichsthal is located in the center of the village Münichsthal in the municipality Wolkersdorf in the Weinviertel in the Mistelbach district in Lower Austria . It is consecrated to St. John Nepomuk and belongs to the Wolkersdorf deanery in the vicariate Unter dem Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna . The church is a listed building .

history

The church was built in 1737. In 1907 it was expanded with a lower extension in the southwest. Since 1958 it has been an independent parish church; before that it belonged to the parish Ulrichskirchen .

Building description

The church is a simple, baroque hall building with a gable roof and a tower with a bent pointed helmet in the north. The church is oriented to the northwest. The entrance facade in the southeast is crowned by a volute gable. The facade is structured by corner pilasters , arched windows and a circumferential, profiled eaves cornice.

Furnishing

The interior has a flat ceiling. The main altar is a baroque altarpiece with a triangular gable and pilasters on the side . The altar panel shows St. John Nepomuk. The foundation stone with the inscription “1737” can also be seen.
