Parish church in Moschendorf
The Roman Catholic parish church in Moschendorf stands on a field planted with trees in the center of the community of Moschendorf ( Hungarian : " Nagysároslak ") in the Güssing district in Burgenland . She is St. Rosalia and belongs to the Deanery Güssing .
history
The church was built in 1773 instead of a small Rosalienkapelle and in 1788 elevated to a parish church. The church was renovated several times, including 1947 and 1967/68.
Architecture and equipment
The church is a large single-nave building with a retracted choir and a semicircular apse . The three-storey south tower is crowned by a pointed helmet. The coat of arms of the Hungarian noble family Batthyány can be seen above the tower portal .
The wide and bright hall has three bays under barrel vaults with stitch caps. These are between double belts that rest on double pilasters . The three-axis gallery has a bulging parapet and is vaulted with groin vaults . A wide triumphal arch separates the apse from the rest of the nave. There is a square vault in the square choir bay and a shell vault with a central flange above the apse.
The high altar dates from the second half of the 18th century. The altar in the form of a framed wall shows an image of St. Rosalia. This is flanked by wooden figures of St. Sebastian and St. Roch .
The side altar is also from the second half of the 18th century. It is a wall altar with a high tower. The altarpiece " Holy Family " is flanked by wooden figures of Saints Anthony and Donatus .
The pulpit basket, which was erected around 1780, now serves as an ambo when dismantled . Above that there is a seated figure of the Evangelist Matthew on the wall. The organ with positive was created around 1780.
