The Roman Catholic parish church Oslip is at the northern end of the village off the road in the municipality of Oslip in the Eisenstadt-Umgebung district in Burgenland . The the feast of the Assumption consecrated parish church belongs to the deanery Rust in the Diocese of Eisenstadt . The church is a listed building .

history

A medieval parish was adopted which was also preserved during the Reformation. The Gothic church partially burned down in 1683. In 1898 the church was renovated and partly refurbished. In 1953 and 1972/1973 the church was restored.

architecture

The mighty three-storey, stepped west tower was built in 1892 with a gable pyramid and has a pointed arched portal and slotted windows on the south side. The nave has simply stepped buttresses and has two baroque portals and round windows on the south side. The choir has buttresses. The sacristy extension in the north has a monopitch roof. There are gravestones outside on the south wall.

Furnishing

The high altar carries a neo-Gothic essay from 1892 with the carved figure of St. Mary from the first half of the 17th century. On the apse wall are the carved figures Joachim and Anna from the mid-18th century on Rococo consoles.
