history

A church building was mentioned in a document as early as 1171, and Admont Abbey was named as the builder in 1185 . Between 1303 and 1803 the church was incorporated into the Augustinian canons of St. Zeno in Reichenhall . A new building took place between 1421 and 1432, presumably Niklas Velbacher from Salzburg was a master builder. In 1563 it was referred to as the Expositur , and in 1857 it was elevated to a parish church. Extensions took place in 1674 and 1870, renovations took place in 1893, 1937, 1949, 1955 and 1972. In one of these redesigns, the furnishings created by Lorenz Kreuztaler at the beginning of the 17th century were lost or are considered lost .
