Catholic parish church of the Assumption in Zell am Moos

The Roman Catholic parish church of Zell am Moos is located in the municipality of Zell am Moos in the Vöcklabruck district in Upper Austria . It is dedicated to the feast of the Assumption of Mary and belongs to the Frankenmarkt dean's office in the Linz diocese . The building is under monument protection ( list entry ).

history

The church is first mentioned in a document in 1107. The church was consecrated in 1441 and partially rebuilt in 1672.

architecture

Church exterior

The church is structured by drawn in struts . The west tower is four storeys high and has a baroque pear-shaped helmet from the period between 1670 and 1674. The portal from 1696 is made of marble . The south portal and the sacristy door are Gothic. Both have stonemason marks.

Church interior

The single-nave Gothic nave has four bay bays. The choir is one-yoke and closes at the 3/8 end. Both the nave and the nave are vaulted with mesh ribs .

Furnishing

The high altar from the end of the 18th century is made of marble. Franz Streicher painted the altarpiece . in the years 1785 and 1786. It comes from the broken parish church Mondsee . The tabernacle dates from the second quarter of the 18th century. They were changed by a student of Guggenbicher . The side altars are from the end of the 18th century, the paintings are from the first half of the 18th century. The pulpit was built around 1800 in the classical style. On it is a late Gothic relief “pouring out the Holy Spirit”. It was created in Upper Austria around 1500. The statues of Saints Blaise and Erasmus are late Gothic from the end of the 15th century. A rosary is from the beginning of the 16th century. The baptismal font was created at the end of the 17th century. In the sacristy there is a lavabo from 1706. The entrance gate on the tower ground floor is from the end of the 17th century.

The bell was cast in 1739.
