Pflügers Archive - European Journal of Physiology , abbreviated Pflügers Arch. Ges. Physiol. or Pflügers Arch. for short , is a scientific journal published by Springer-Verlag . It is currently published twelve times a year.

It was founded in 1868 by Eduard Pflüger under the name Archive for the Entire Physiology of Man and Animals . The first edition contains 26 articles, the authors of which include Hermann Aubert , Julius Bernstein , Johann Nepomuk Czermak , Franciscus Cornelis Donders , Sigmund Exner , Siegmund Mayer , Peter Panum , William Thierry Preyer , Salomon Stricker , Hermann von Helmholtz and Nathan Zuntz . In 1910 the name of the founder was included in the name of the magazine, so that it was subsequently called Pflüger's Archive for the Entire Physiology of Humans and Animals . This name was retained until 1968 when it was changed to the current one.

Some journals went into the Pflüger's archive, such as the 1919 Archive for Anatomy and Physiology. Physiological Dept. ( ISSN  0365-5806 ) or in 1921 the Zentralblatt für Physiologie and the Archiv für Physiologie . Works from all areas of physiological research are published.

The impact factor in 2014 was 4.101. According to the statistics of the ISI Web of Knowledge , the journal with this impact factor ranks 13th out of 83 journals in the Physiology category.
