Nursing House (Straßwalchen)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nursing home is located in the municipality of Straßwalchen in the Salzburg-Umgebung district in the state of Salzburg (Salzburger Straße 1).

In 1390 and 1398, respectively, the Salzburg prince archbishops Pilgrim II. Von Puchheim and Gregor Schenk von Osterwitz acquired the rule of Mattsee with Straßwalchen and the court of Hochfeld from the Passau monastery . In 1414, Prince Archbishop Eberhard III. von Neuhaus von Bayern the neck court for Straßwalchen on repurchase, which was redeemed in 1428. In 1420 the nursing courts of Straßwalchen and Mattsee were merged. After the separation of the regional court in Höchfeld from the care court in Mattsee in 1644, the care judge needed a building in Straßwalchen again. This is described as "small and comfortable, with two low storeys and an unusually large office building" (= prison). This building burned down in 1721 and was rebuilt the following year under Prince Archbishop Harrach . A marble plaque at Gasthaus Lebzelter (Mayburgerplatz 10) reminds of this with the following inscription:

Today's building on the site of the former nursing home in Straßwalchen

“HASCE AEDES PRAETORIAS / EXORTO INOPINATO INCENDIO / REPENTIVE DEVASTATAS 1721 / ITERUM AEDIFICARI ET ERIGI CVURAVIT 1722 / Francisc. Ant. Archieps. Pps. Salisburg. SS / apost. Legacy. SRI Princeps from Harrach et. Etc."

In 1803, the Straßwalchen care court was merged with that of Neumarkt and the building was sold to private individuals.
