The Pflieger Reise- und Verkehrs-GmbH + Co. operates as a private bus company the bus routes of Stadtverkehr Böblingen - Sindelfingen (SBS) as well as regional bus routes in the district of Boeblingen within the Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart (VVS). With around 140 employees and 93 vehicles, the company is the largest private local transport service provider in the Böblingen district. In addition, Pflieger is active in occasional and commissioned traffic.
history
Eugen Pflieger opened in 1926, a colonial goods - wholesale business with affiliated car rental in Sindelfingen. In 1932 he began to offer excursions with four buses. This was followed by the establishment of bus routes to Tübingen , Rottenburg and Nagold .
After the end of the war, Pflieger resumed excursion and regular services to Oberjesingen and Nagold with a reduced fleet of vehicles . From 1950 several city lines were opened within Böblingen and Sindelfingen.
In the 1960s, around 20 buses were used in the city of Böblingen-Sindelfingen. The Pflieger coaches now headed for destinations all over Europe.
At the end of 1977 the company reached before the Federal Administrative Court that the Stuttgart trams had to cede their bus line Ba from Sindelfingen via Dagersheim to Darmsheim to Pflieger. Dagersheim was incorporated into Böblingen in 1971, and Darmsheim to Sindelfingen in the same year. In 1981 city traffic was expanded to the Maichingen district of Sindelfingen .
In 1984 the 195 kilometer long route network was served by 44 buses, for which a new depot was built in the industrial area Böblingen-Hulb in 1985.
In 1999/2000 the entire bus network was reorganized, which included changes to the route and cycle times.
Until 2018, Pflieger took over individual trips on lines 84 and 92 on behalf of the Stuttgart trams .
Following an EU-wide tender for all bus routes in the Boeblingen district, the sister company RVP, newly founded by Pflieger, has been operating route 745 Magstadt-Maichingen since the end of 2017. Pflieger was awarded the contract for the line bundle 5 in the Weil der Stadt, Grafenau and Calw area from December 2018. At the same time, the company took over individual courses on lines 734, 752, 753, 754, 756, 760, 761 and N74 of the operator FMO .
With an independent offer, Pflieger was also able to win line bundle 7 and has been operating urban transport in Böblingen and Sindelfingen for almost ten years since December 2019.
Today the Pflieger company operates 27 bus routes of its own, seven of which are only temporary. Around 10 million passengers are carried annually with almost 100 buses.
