The FC Phönix Seen is a Swiss 2. Liga - Soccer Team from the Winterthur district lakes . The women's division plays in the 2nd division .

history

The club was founded on March 18, 1918 as FC Viktoria Winterthur . In June 1919 the club was renamed FC Kreuzstern . However, since the Maggi factory in Kemptthal complained that their company logo was also a star of the cross, one month later they changed their name to the current name FC Phönix Winterthur and joined the SFV . In 1934 the junior department was founded. In 1948, three years after the end of the Second World War, the club was able to move into a new sports field with what was then the Deutweg sports field (now Talgut).

From 1970, Phönix Seen also played in the first staging of the Swiss women's football championship, which was initially held in three groups on one level. In the 1973/74 season, the team was able to achieve the best placement in second place of the seven participants in Eastern Switzerland (one of four groups). From the 1974/75 season, the women's football team in question played for SC Veltheim . Today's women's department was founded in 1984.

On May 23, 1986 the club took its current name FC Phönix Seen . Since 1997 the club has played at its current home, the Steinacker sports field.
