description
The first lighthouse in this place was built in 1900. However, it was not stable and was replaced from 1923 according to plans by the engineers Bareste and Bardot. The 19 m high, rectangular stone tower tapers towards the top and has a platform with a balustrade on all sides. The lantern was taken from the previous tower. The new sector fire went into operation in 1927 and has the highest fire height in France at 167 m .
The lighthouse was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 2012 as Monument historique .
