Philip Casnoff

Philip Casnoff (born August 3, 1949 in Philadelphia ) is an American actor .

Life

Casnoff was best known for his role as Elkanah Bent , the opponent of the main character Orry Main, in the series Torches in the Storm , which he played in all three seasons. She placed his first major television role, yet his breakthrough as a series actor. In 1992 he portrayed in the mini-series Sinatra the entertainer and actor Frank Sinatra , for which he is a Globe Golden received nomination.

In the television series Strong Medicine , he played chief physician Robert Jackson for five years . He has also made many guest roles in well-known series such as Frasier , Law & Order , Remington Steele and Chicago Hope . He also directed an episode of Strong Medicine as well as Monk .

In addition to his involvement in television, Casnoff tried his hand at various musicals on Broadway , including as Freddie in Chess . He received good reviews for his role in the musical version of James Clavell's Shogun . However, both productions were canceled early.

Casnoff has been married to actress Roxanne Hart since 1984 and they have two children together.
