Philip Diehl
Philip Diehl (born January 29, 1847 in Dalsheim , † April 7, 1913 in Elizabeth , New Jersey ) was a German-American inventor and engineer .
Life
In 1868 Diehl emigrated from Germany to the United States. Diehl made important contributions to the invention of the incandescent lamp in 1882, the electric sewing machine motor, the dynamo in 1884 and the ceiling fan in 1887, for which he filed patents in the United States. Diehl was married to Emilie Loos.
