Philip Wade "Phil" Kelso (born May 25, 1871 in Largs , Scotland , † February 1935 in London ) was a Scottish football coach .

Kelso began his coaching career in Scotland with Hibernian Edinburgh . In 1904 he took over the promoted to the First Division team from Woolwich Arsenal , now known as Arsenal FC. There he made it to the semi-finals of the FA Cup twice in a row , but there was no success in the league.

When Kelso ended his engagement with Arsenal in 1908, he returned to Scotland to run a hotel there. However, he stayed only a short time before he took over the coaching post at Fulham FC in 1909 . With a tenure of 15 years, he is the coach with the longest tenure in the club. Interestingly, Kelso inherited Harry Bradshaw at both coaching stations in England .

After Kelso resigned from his post in 1924, he opened a pub in Hammersmith . He later also became chairman of the Football League Managers and Secretaries Association .
