Philip Ma

Philip Ma Ching Yeung ( Chinese  馬清揚  /  马清扬 , Pinyin Mǎ Qīngyáng , Jyutping Maa 5 Cing 1 joeng 4 , born May 1, 1963 in Hong Kong ) is a Hong Kong- Chinese racing driver .

Career

Ma started his motorsport career in 1994 and initially only took part in Asian races. From 2003 to 2011 Ma took part in several races of the Asian Porsche Carrera Cup . He achieved his best overall placement in 2009 with seventh place.

In addition, Ma occasionally competed in international racing series. In 2004 he took part in the FIA GT Championship race in Zhuhai in a Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT from DAMS . In 2009 he started in an Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT2 in the two 500-kilometer races in Okayama as part of the Asian Le Mans Series . At the end of the 2010 season he made his debut in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) and competed in a Honda Accord Euro R at the Macau Grand Prix . In 2011 , he competed in a BMW 320si from Proteam Racing on the last two race weekends of the WTCC in Shanghai and Macau. As in the previous season, he remained without points. His best individual placement in the WTCC is a 15th place.
