Philip Mold
Philip Jonathan Clifford Mold OBE (born March 1960 ) is a British art historian and art dealer.
Life
Mold studied art history at the University of East Anglia . Mold conducted research on British portraiture and made a name for himself when he managed to reassign works by Thomas Gainsborough . He determined portrait paintings from the Tudor era .
The National Portrait Gallery in London and the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter were among the customers in his art dealership in the London borough of Mayfair . Mold works as an art expert for various organizations, including the British Parliament from 2008 to 2010. Mold is a regular contributor to the UK quality press. He appears on television as an art mediator and is a. a. Co-author of the BBC show Fake or Fortune? .
Mold became an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2005 and an honorary doctorate from the University of East Anglia in 2013 . He was co-opted into the Linnean Society of London as a Fellow in 2012 .
