Philip Wohlgemuth (born February 23, 1987 in Innsbruck or Rum , Tyrol ) is an Austrian politician of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) and a trade unionist. In June 2017 he took over the chairmanship of ÖGB Tirol , since March 2018 he has been a member of the Tyrolean state parliament and since May 1, 2019 deputy club chairman .

Life

After primary school in Pradl, Philip Wohlgemuth attended the Gabelsbergerstrasse technical secondary school in Innsbruck and the Innsbruck polytechnic. He then attended the Hotel Management School Villa Blanka Innsbruck from 2002 to 2005 . He then worked as a receptionist in 2006/07.

He was regional youth chairman of the then hotel, restaurant and personal service union (HGPD), later of the vida union . From 2007 to 2011 he was state youth secretary of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions (ÖGB) in Tyrol, then state secretary. Since 2013 he has been the country manager of the vida union. In June 2017 Philip Wohlgemuth was elected as the successor to Otto Leist as chairman of the ÖGB Tirol .

Since 2006 he has been a member of the SPÖ Innsbruck-Stadt district executive, where he has been deputy district party chairman since 2015. On March 28, 2018 he was in the constituent state parliament session of the XVII. Legislative term as Member of the Tyrolean Parliament sworn in , where he served on the committee for Housing and Transport and the Committee on economy, tourism, energy and technology.
