Joachim Philipkowski (born February 26, 1961 in Mrągowo , Poland ) is a former German soccer player and currently active as a soccer coach .
career
His family emigrated to Göttingen in 1971 after many unsuccessful applications from Masuria . As a teenager he played at HSV Barmbek-Uhlenhorst . In 1977 he moved to FC St. Pauli , where he only played as a professional for the last year.
Philipkowski, whose motto was “Fight and fight again!”, Moved from FC St. Pauli to 1. FC Nürnberg at the beginning of the 1985/86 season . In the previous season, he had made such a positive impression on his second division appearance with FC St. Pauli against his opponent Roland Grahammer that the telephone numbers between him and 1. FC Nürnberg were exchanged immediately after the game. The young club eleven attracted him more than Hamburger SV , 1. FC Saarbrücken or Hannover 96 , who had also asked him.
After his move, he was integrated quickly, made the leap into the first team and was soon celebrated as a top performer because of his hard work and good technique. Slight problems actually only appeared at the end of the course, but the trained machine fitter has always been more of a preparer than an executor.
From 1985 to 1992 he played 154 first division games for 1. FC Nürnberg, in which he scored 13 goals.
After he had finished his active time at FC St. Pauli, he worked there initially as an amateur and later as an assistant coach. When head coach Dietmar Demuth was dismissed in August 2002 , he took over the training management, which was officially transferred to him shortly afterwards. His debut as a Pauli coach was not so successful: the Hamburg team came under the wheels at VfB Lübeck 6-0. In December he was also fired for continued unsuccessfulness. In May 2003 he became the coach of Werder Bremen's A youth team . From November 1, 2004 to November 29, 2005 he was the coach of the HSV amateur team. From 2005 to 2007 he trained again for the amateur team of FC St. Pauli. From 2009 he took over the management of the youth training center and coordinates the U23 to U14 of the club. Currently (January 2018) Philipkowski is the head coach of the U-23 team.
