Philipp Fernis (born May 20, 1982 in Mainz ) is a German lawyer and politician ( FDP ). Since May 2016 he has been State Secretary in the Ministry of Justice of Rhineland-Palatinate .

Live and act

After graduating from high school in 2001, Philipp Fernis studied law at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and graduated in 2007 with the first legal exam . Following his legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Koblenz , he passed his second state examination in 2010 .

From 2010 to 2011 he worked as a lawyer , freelance seminar leader and speaker at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom . Fernis has worked as a lawyer at the Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden since 2011 , most recently from 2015 to 2016 as head of department in the legal department.

Philipp Fernis has been State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice of Rhineland-Palatinate in the Dreyer II cabinet since May 2016 . In terms of local politics, he is a member of the municipal legal committee of the city of Bad Kreuznach . In terms of party politics, Fernis was a member of the state board from 1999 to 2000 and deputy chairman of the Young Liberals of Rhineland-Palatinate from 2000 to 2002 , from 2005 to 2007 a member of the student parliament of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and since 2011 a member of the state board of the FDP Rhineland-Palatinate .

His grandfather is Hans-Georg Fernis .
