Philip III (Baden-Rodemachern)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Philip III von Baden-Rodemachern (born August 15, 1567 in Rodemachern ; † November 6, 1620 on the stronghold ) was margrave of the margraviate of Baden-Rodemachern .

Life

Philip III was the second son of Christoph II von Baden-Rodemachern and Cäcilie Wasa .

In 1592, Philipp killed the Baden bailiff von Rodemachern, Mang Volz. The competent Luxembourg authorities, however, granted his pardon. After the death of his brother Eduard Fortunat , he lived at Ettlingen Castle . In 1605, Philipp enlisted soldiers to take the margraviate of Baden-Baden from Durlach's cousin Georg Friedrich . The attempt failed and Georg Friedrich first captured Philipp in Durlach and then in the stronghold, where he died in 1620 without leaving any descendants.
