from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Philipp Köglsperger (* 1673 in Sachsenkam ; † 1730 in Munich ) was a master builder in Munich.

Life

After a few years of traveling in Vienna and Hungary, he applied for a court mason trellis position in Munich in 1704. In 1708 he tried to get civil rights and master craftsman rights in Munich, against which the guild objected. Rejected in 1711, it was granted to him in 1713. In 1715 he was recognized as a master. In 1718, 1720/21 and 1723/24 he became a guild master (foursome) of the Munich masonry trade.

Köglsperger was married to a daughter of Philipp Zwerger and was mainly concerned with the execution of designs by other builders. His son Philipp Jakob Köglsperger (1707– ??) was also a master builder.
