Life

Parish church of Dommelstadl

He was the son of the Munich builder Philipp Köglsperger . He spent his days as a bricklayer in Bohemia, among others with Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer in Prague. In 1730 he succeeded his late father as court bricklayer in Munich. In 1735 he tried to get approval as a bourgeois master, which the guild and the council of Munich refused to accept, since 1737 mainly because of a lack of masterpieces. In 1738/39, in competition with Johann Michael Fischer for the construction of St. Michael (Berg am Laim), he had problems with the guild. After he failed again in 1741 with his attempt to be accepted into the middle-class trade in Munich, he moved his activities to Schärding and the Innviertel . He was still mainly limited to the execution of the designs of foreign masters. He was involved in the construction of the parish church of the Holy Trinity in Dommelstadl .
