Philipp Peter Guden

Philipp Peter Guden (* 1642 in Ortshausen ; † April 11, 1721 in Bockenem ) was a German Lutheran theologian, consistorial councilor and general superintendent of the general diocese of Bockenem .

Life

Philipp Peter Guden was a son of the teacher Heinrich Guden. His maternal grandfather was Johannes Sander, pastor in Bornum and Dahlum. Where he attended school and university is unknown. His first occupied position was that of the principal at the school in Osterode am Harz . Then he became a pastor in Bornhausen . After the death of Ottorabius Georg Scriba in 1679, Guden became the first pastor in Bockenem and superintendent for the newly established inspection for the offices of Woldenberg and Bilderlahe. However, he did not yet receive the general superintendent, which passed to Heinrich Schomburg in Salzgitter. On August 10, 1679, Guden von Schomburg was introduced as a pastor in Bockenem. During his term of office the great fire of 1685 and the battle of Bockenem against the Danes (1700) fall. After Schomburg's death, Guden was appointed consistorial councilor by the prince-bishop in 1689. The appointment as general superintendent for the General Diocese of Bockenem, which was the responsibility of the Celle sovereign as patron, was carried out a year later.

Guden had three sons, including Heinrich Philipp Guden , general superintendent in Göttingen and Celle, and Johann Peter Guden, mayor of Bockenem, city secretary and Hildesheim treasurer.
