Philipp Potthast

Philipp Potthast (born September 4, 1994 in Munich ) is a German author, rapper and poetry slammer .

Life

Philipp Potthast grew up in Freising and completed a law degree in Munich . Since 2013 he can be seen regularly as a participant and moderator of poetry slams on stages. Potthast regularly takes part in German-language championships in the poetry slam and reached the semi-finals there several times, most recently in Zurich in 2018. His greatest successes include winning the Bavarian state championship in 2019 and being awarded the Freising district's youth culture prize in the same year.

Potthast's texts have been published in several text collections. He and Johannes Berger form the hip-hop duo and poetry slam team, Naturally Blond .

Between 2015 and 2018 Potthast led workshops in creative writing at the Munich Schauburg Theater , and since 2018 he has moderated U20 poetry slams there together with Ko Bylanzky . Together with Yannik Sellmann and Johannes Lenz he produced the podcast format "Weekly Rewind - the slam-poetic weekly review" for the radio station Bayern 2 .

Since 2019 he has worked as an author for the funk formats " Walulis " and "Walulis Daily".
