Philip VI (Waldeck)
Philip VI (* October 4, 1551 ; † November 9, 1579 in Darmstadt ) was canon in Strasbourg and Count of Waldeck zu Landau.
Life
He was the first son from the marriage of Johann I and Anna zur Lippe. So he belonged to the Waldeck family . Together with his younger brother Franz III. he studied until 1569 at the University of Marburg . His uncle of the same name had renounced his position as canon in Strasbourg in 1567 in his favor. But even after his father's death in 1567 he was sovereign in the part of Waldeck inherited from his father. He resided in Arolsen . He was buried in the city church in Darmstadt. His mother also had an epitaph built for him there .
