Philipp Weigel

Ernst Philipp Weigel , alias Emmler, Ernst (* July 7, 1878 in Raschau ; † 1948 ) was a German economist , local researcher and dialect poet of the Saxon Ore Mountains .

Life

After attending the Realgymnasium in Zwickau , where he received his school-leaving certificate at Easter 1897, Weigel first studied at the Technical University in Dresden . He finished his studies by taking the state preliminary examination. From the autumn of 1903 he completed a degree in economics at the University of Leipzig , where he completed his dissertation in 1906, The Saxon Siberia . His economic life. A contribution to the appreciation of the Ore Mountains with Wilhelm Stieda received his doctorate. A year later, his doctoral thesis was published in a slightly revised form by Verlag R. Trenkel in Berlin. Weigel intended to expand the work, should it be of interest, especially since the situation of the branches of industry described had to change again as a result of the general economic downturn when it appeared . However, there was no continuation.

Weigel worked as an economist.
