Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe

Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe (born March 6, 1940 in Tours , † January 28, 2007 in Paris ) was a French philosopher , literary critic and translator .

Influences and connections

Lacoue-Labarthe's works were significantly influenced by Martin Heidegger , Jacques Derrida , Jacques Lacan , German Romanticism , Paul Celan, and Deconstruction . He has translated texts by Heidegger, Celan, Friedrich Nietzsche , Friedrich Hölderlin and Walter Benjamin into French .

He wrote several books and articles with Jean-Luc Nancy , a colleague from the Université Marc Bloch in Strasbourg .
